The Meaning of Red Leaves: A Landmark Investment
KFE is a private investment firm controlled by the highly successful Canadian business developer Ken Fowler, recently named by the Ontario Restaurant News as its Newsmaker of the Year (2006).
KFE has invested more than $70 million in Red Leaves, and that investment – combined with Marriott’s decision to place its first J.W. Marriott property in Canada at the site – indicates that Muskoka is poised for further growth.
There are more than 20,000 seasonal dwellings in the Muskoka region, adding more than 75,000 people to the region’s residential population of 500,000 throughout the year.
Mr. Fowler is an experienced executive in the hospitality and real estate industries and has a seasoned track record of successful land development and construction experience throughout Ontario and the United States. The company has a broad spectrum of well-managed companies in resort and hospitality, real estate and development, resort and golf, retail and apparel as well as petroleum and other products.
KFE’s consolidated revenues are in excess of $1 billion. Among their holdings, KFE owns Prudhommes Landing in the Niagara Peninsula, the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in the Canadian Rockies, The Anchorage Development in Niagara-on-the-Lake and SIR Corp., a Canadian restaurant company that owns and operates more than 38 venues including Far Niente, Reds Bistro & Wine Bar, Jack Astor’s, Alice Fazooli’s and Canyon Creek.
