Whitewater Golf Course
It’s been 10 years since developers Bruno and Silvio Di Gregorio found a great parcel of land in the wilderness outside Thunder Bay and hired renowned architect Tom McBroom to design a world-class golf course.
Today, their Whitewater Golf Course boasts 18 of the finest holes to be found anywhere – with another nine under development – and a 20-acre golf academy that features putting, chipping, and short game stations as well as a 400-yard range. There’s also a planned community in progress. Built around the course, when complete it will feature 500 homes, a resort hotel and other recreational facilities, including 12 kilometres of hiking trails.
Key to the success of the $200 million, 550-acre project has been that everything is being designed and built to exist in harmony with the stunning natural setting.
"What we need now is to attract more destination golfers," says Silvio Di Gregorio. "That calls for the development of another four or five high-end courses in and around Thunder Bay."
